Killin is 62 miles from Glasgow, and 73 miles from Edinburgh.
From Glasgow, there is a choice of routes:
From Anniesland cross, take the A739, signed for the A81 and Aberfoyle. The A81 leads you through Milngavie and Strathblane, almost to Aberfoyle, where the road swings right at a small roundabout, now signed for Callander. Still on the A81, Callander is 10 miles beyond here. Turn left at the traffic lights in Callander on to the A84, which takes you northwards past Loch Lubnaig to join the A85 at Lochearnhead. Follow the A85 up Glen Ogle for 5 miles, and take the right turn at Lix Toll on to the A827 for Killin. From here it is less than 3 miles to the village.
From Anniesland cross you can also take the A82, signed for Crianlarich. The A82 can also be joined from the Erskine Bridge, if you are travelling from Glasgow on the M8. From the Erskine Bridge, Crianlarich is 40 miles distant, on the road which goes up the west side of Loch Lomond. At Crianlarich, turn right on to the A85, for 11 miles through Glen Dochart. At Lix Toll turn left on to the A827 for Killin. From here it is less than 3 miles to the village.
From Edinburgh:
Leave the city on the A720, the City Bypass, and take the 3rd exit at the roundabout to join the M8. After 11 miles, leave the M8 at Junction 2, to join the M9. Continue for 29 miles, and leave the M9 at Junction 10 to join the A84. Drive through Callander and past Loch Lubnaig for 27 miles, to join the A85 at Lochearnhead. Follow the A85 up Glen Ogle for 5 miles, and take the right turn at Lix Toll on to the A827 for Killin. From here it is less than 3 miles to the village.
From the North of England:
Approach Glasgow from the south on the M74. Leave the M74 at Junction 1 to join the M73 at Junction 3. Continue for about 7 miles to join the A80. Join the M80 after about 7 miles. Continue onto the M9 and leave the motorway after about 3.5 miles at Junction 10, to join the A84. The A84 takes you through Callander and past Loch Lubnaig to join the A85 at Lochearnhead. Follow the A85 up Glen Ogle for 5 miles, and take the right turn at Lix Toll on to the A827 for Killin. From here it it less than 3 miles to the village.
